REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
Consultant Coordinator
Partnering with Historic Theaters to Educate about Historic Sites
The Canyons & Plains of Southeast Colorado Regional Heritage Taskforce (SECORHT) is seeking an experienced Heritage Tourism professional with significant knowledge of preservation and stewardship principals to manage the production of seven Public Service Announcements to be shown before first run feature movies in Historic Theaters.
The goal for this grant project is to educate high school students, young adults, families and adults about significant historical sites in their region and the importance of local stewardship. The objectives are to increase visitation at the following historic sites: Bent’s Old Fort National Historic Site, Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site, Granada Relocation Center/Camp Amache National Historic Landmark, Boggsville National Historic District, Santa Fe National Historic Trail and Comanche National Grassland.
The funding period for the first phase includes the production of seven video segments. The Consultant Coordinator will manage, coordinate and complete deliverables with reports for the project which is funded by Preserve America and the Colorado Historical Society State Historic Fund. Familiarity with working with these two agencies is required.
The consultant will be expected to coordinate storylines and interpretive information for the production crew to ensure a consistent message and further the goals of the preservation community, market the program outside of the Southeast Colorado Region, and document the project so it can serve as a model for other rural communities nationwide.
In your proposal, please define and develop a specific project approach to the scope of work, budget, and timeline for completion of the project, and state your qualifications for seeing the project through to completion. Completion date is set at April 30, 2010 and consultant fees are not to exceed $15,000 plus travel and per diem.
