No Number Home: Play written by Tencha Ávila (award winning playwright from Las Animas) is based on true story of events near Las Animas and Ft. Lyon. about l944. At that colony of seven Mexican immigrant families -- farm workers and their American children – during WWII one of the sons goes AWOL from the Army at Christmas time. The MPs come looking for him. Do the people – include a bright 8-year-old girl -- cooperate, or stick with their own? There are conflicts over patriotism and traditional loyalty -- intertwined with Mexican folklore and religious traditions and the pageantry of the Christmas posadas.
